I'm going to be honest, I prefer Doomfist the Scourge's look over the Successor's look. The Successor looks far too cartoony whilst the Scourge looks cartoony but still relatively grounded in that we could see that he's military/exmilitary/paramilitary. Like he's more grounded in that whilst they're both cartoony, the Scourge fits the role of busting ass whilst the Successor looks like a over-the-top JRPG design.

I'm going to disagree, The Scourge has body armour in what appears to be some kind of power armour/nanosuit. It's cartoony but not in excess that it's jumping the shark.

Meanwhile the Successor runs around half-naked which feels odd, for the sake of comparison Soldier 76 is just as cartoony but hasn't jumped the shark as you could see the why behind a lot of his kit (visor for aiming, armour under his jacket, comfortable pants since he's sprinting a lot in combat, armoured boots). The Successor doesn't give that same impression to me in that there's not a lot of rhyme or reason to his design. Like it makes relative sense that Junkrat and Roadhog are half naked since they're irradiated random madmen but I expect a bit more from one of the most powerful men in the Overwatch universe.

I get that there's going to be skins as well, but I don't like the vanilla design for reasons beyond hurrdurrniggermuhsjwpandering

I was talking about Doomfist and his design and that it to me seems to take the low effort design of making him a Zulu-style spear chucker instead of reflecting his design on the traditional dress of the people who live in the area called Nigeria and are collectively called Nigerian in the same way that English, Scots, Irishmen, Welsh etc. are all people with defined cultural background yet are all collectively called British.

So typically the heroes get released with skins that relate to the culture that they're associated with. I expect doomfist to be no different. However, as someone who made the mistake of earning an unmarketable and lore heavy degree in religious studies I want to point out what I hope is already obvious to the overwatch team at blizzard. Doomfist absolutely needs a skin associated with/named after the Yoruba orisha (god) Ogun who has dominion over metal, technology and war. The Yoruba religion is native to Southeastern Nigeria and if I've ever seen a devotee of Ogun it's Doomfist. I mean for God's sake the man's backstory may as well be that he's the physical avatar of Ogun come to earth. I mean the man believes humanity grows through conflict (war), has enhanced himself with machines (technology) and doesn't fear the weaponry of his enemies (it is typically believed by devotees of Ogun that weapons can not harm them as their God has dominion over all metal). If Doomfist isn't the a favored devotee of Ogun then one of them is dropping the ball. All I need is an epic skin called Ogun with black pants and a chrome fist. I'm not asking for much, just cultural depth and a little bit of mythos (Also how is the best defense passive not called Ogun's blessing?).
