The original Xbox was cool. It didn't have the games of the PS2, but it was a powerful, well-built console with some really interesting and fun exclusive titles.

The 360 was a better product because they had the games and were contending with an overpriced blu ray player, but holy shit, what a disaster it was in terms of design. I cannot believe how many of those early consoles failed. It was disgusting. There should have been a recall and M$ should have been sued. It amazes me that this didn't happen. They sold a product that was designed in such a way that it would fail within a couple of years, and they kept selling these broken hunks of junk for years.

The XBONE is not only shit; it has no games. Why would you buy a console if it had no games? They have done one good thing, though, and that's make every one of their exclusives available on PC too. Now no one has to buy their piece of shit box and Xbox as a console can fade into existence. Everything MS does outside of the software it has a monopoly on fails. It can't do music players, it can't do phones, and it can't do gaming consoles, and this is because M$ would rather go balls in and try to bleed its consumers dry than make a successful product.

When people say the Xbox has no games, they understand the game has multiplatform titles. That's a given. What they are saying is that the console has no games separating it from the PC or PS4, and given it's less powerful than both, there's no reason to own one. All the games coming out on Xbox One will either be on PC or PS4, and those platforms also have additional games that the Xbox does not have. Do you understand?

The entire problem with the PS4 for its first 3 years for me was "I can play this game on my old box, so why should I give a damn about the new box?". And only now that the PS3 is dead is the PS4 starting to look like anything other than a glorified PS3 add-on. Consoles live and die by their honest exclusives, if you can play them ANYWHERE else then it's hard to make a case for the console being worth it for that game, save for clearly superior versions like the Gamecube versions of Killer7 and (at the time) RE4. This "ecosystem" bullshit has only been perpetuated in the last few years and all it does is (poorly) mask how anemic these console's libraries are. Then again, we also live in a time where people don't give a shit about buying a console for multiplats so fuck it, if that's where the market is heading then might as well milk it for what it's worth. I ignored the first original xbox, like an idiot, but seeing the 360 at a friend's house was the only thing that made me care about the last gen at all. I think Microsoft just remind me of Sega, and I grew up with Nintendo and Sega. I buy Sony consoles, but I will never like them the way I like Nintendo and, now, Microsoft.
