Is it true the GoG versions of 1 & 2 are the way to go?

I have an AMD E1-1200 1.4GHZ Dual Core
And a 256mb AMD RADEON HD 7310 (speccy says it has near 4gb for some reason, I think its that "hypermemory") and 8gb total memory, can I run this game?

I think it's this, NV for me feels a lot more 50's and Fallout-esque than FO3 green barren wasteland. The aesthetics are just MMMMHHH

I have the gog versions and they are fucking terrible because of a recent patch. Fallout 1 kept crashing randomly and if it crashed it corrupted a whole save slot, so learn to save a lot. Fallout 2 didn't crash as much only when you saved while in combat and then tried to shoot, if I remember correctly but still saves got corrupted etc. Anyways for Fallout 1 get Fallout Fixt and for Fallout 2 get the Restoration project

For me, it's the setting and writing. You're a sheltered boy who spent his entire life in a vault and 5 minutes after exiting it you start killing people and mutated animals like it's nothing.

Locations feel a lot more boring. Level scaling is way worse (albino radscorpions are the best example). Supermutant Behemoths make no sense.

I'm playing FO3 using TTW after finishing NV and it's such a huge gap in quality it's not even funny

Never actually tried a mod to have her as a companion. Then again I could always use jip to force recruit her.

Personally while I have mods that add in a few new companions, such as Vincent Vincent and Hope Lies, my favourites are the house securitron, Marcus and best bro.

Did the unique weapons in fallout 3 follow the whole level scaling bullshit like Skyrim and Oblivion?

NV has project nevada aswell which is done by the same people

it comes in three parts, most people just grab the first part as it adds sprinting, reduced back peddle speed, visor overlays with night vision on power armour, a grenade hotkey and a ton of other shit
Second module adds cybernetic implants that do a ton of shit for you, grab that if you think it sounds cool
last part is a rebalance and adds a ton of stuff equipment. Most people avoid this because there are other rebalances out there that are much better and a ton of shit it adds look nasty compared to Millenia's weapons. It's not bad, it's probably more engaging than vanilla
