No I have a slim so I cant use the hdd add on for the PS2, I just networked my PCs hard drive and load isos from there using a crossover cable.

the setting is connected, and there are some recurring characters in 3 from the first one, but..it's not required.

A lot of it's best games got HD ports so the potential exclusive list has dwindled.

Get the Onimusha games and the Ace Combat games since you can't get those anywhere else (and they are great especially Ace Combat).

Unless he can specifically pick them up and succefully run them on his PC right now there is great reason to. For example he COULD find Silent Hill 3, but what a pain in the ass it is and in requirment of fixes when he could just get the PS2 version.
