Omg are you me? When they sent me the text that my order (ps4 with mgsv edition ) was ready to be picked up the next day. As soon as I got off uni I went there and it was raining like hell and I waited outside for 3 hours because the pickup truck with the deliveries hadn't come. And I didn't care nothing would stop me from getting it, and the ride home omg the ride home with my brand new ps4 red with mgsv nothing literally nothing could run the moment , the hype the light in my eyes I was alive for the first time in years I was excited for something. When I got home and set everything up it was that moment that hAppens every once in a while when you start a new mgs game and everything is new. When I finished the hospital when I got to afganistan, when I played the first mission that I saw countless times before the in the trailers, I was finally controlling snake. Fuck that day I didn't even go to the gym ( which is like religion to me ) and the day after and the day after. But then something happened , there was no story , the missions were repetitive as shit and I kept playing and then I got to Africa and I was shitty as fuck , nothing like the jungle they showed in their gameplay videos. But I kept playing , I finally rescued code talker and some cool cutscenes started and it felt like a mgs game for the first time in around 40hrs of gameplay , but then it was over :( the chapter was shitty as fuck should ve been a prologue.

It destroyed my the only thing I loved, and it wasn't because of konami,no , it was on porpuse because that faggot watched drive and mad max and wanted to recreate that with mgs, he wanted to over hype that shit and let us down on porpuse . He destroyed me, by destroying IT, been a fan since I was 11 with mgs 1. I dispise you Hideo Kojima, like no other man I this world

Metal Gear Solid has just been a continuous upset after the first one. First we get most of the first sequel without the iconic character then they remake the first without the original soundtrack, then we go back to some cold war shit. i still enjoyed 4 for what it was or what it was trying to be
there are still moments of the story that resonates well with sons of liberty and that i really liked, perfect example is solidus' body and mind being trapped by nanomachines. the bad thing is that those moments are kinda lost in shit like otacon falling in love again and the death of his (second) loved one: i'm not saying that that moment isn't perfectly set up but to me, it screams "hey, remember sniper wolf in metal gear solid??", and there are a lot of moments like this in the game

the gameplay sections were fun and very enjoyable but they're so short and you can't even use half of all the cool stuff you found/upgraded

i don't know, i enjoyed the ride but i still don't have the desire to play it again like 2 or 3

I dunno, I finished MGS4 and enjoyed it. I couldn't get into MGO though, it felt sluggish and boring.

MGS5 I didn't finish (got to mission 22 or so), and I liked MGO a little bit more but the balance was so shit I just gave up.

The story of Metal Gear has always been pretty stupid, but it had a lot going for it prior to MGS4. It was salvageable.

>The spookyness of super AI controlled by a secret organization responsible for how we live our lives in MGS2
>The backstory of Big Boss on why he hated the idea of soldiers being used by politicians.
>The unexplainable super natural elements sprinkled through out the series.

You look at all this and there's so much you can do with it from here, but then MGS4 comes along and fucks all that up. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't what anyone expected. The only part I truly loved was the Father-Son bonding at the very end. That was good. Everything else was whatever.

Act 1 and 2 were legit good. 3 was both too long for what you were doing and just too tedious. Act 4 was literal nostalgia fuel with shit enemies. Act 5 was okay with a great boss fight. Overall the boss fights were mediocre for the series.

If Act 3 was less trailing someone, and the shootout at the end was shorter, and you put in actual level design and guards like Act 1/2 it would have been good.

That's the entire point of the second game you fucking retard, it's supposed to be an ambiguous tone held throughout.

Had a fucking blast when MGS4 came out.
I did first playthrough with no alerts, exploring everything I could, helping the militias, finding the ipod music, dicking around in mission briefings. And I came buckets with the final boss.

It truly felt the climax of a great series for me. I only wish it had more segments with wierd gameplay objectives, such as placing c3 in MGS3, the rappel section in MGS1, etc.
Also, Act 3 had too much exposure time and little gameplay. And I absolutely hated the B&B bed time stories and fanservice. The battles were fun, but they were shitty villains. The mr. and mrs. smith scene with Meryl and Johnny was fucking shit.

I started the MGS franchise with 3, so I'm more of a Big Boss faggot even though he turns 'bad' later on, but 4 felt like a really good, final and satisfying goodbye to Solid who was actually the true hero of the whole series. They should have left it at 4, it was a neat ending and even though I wanted to know more about BB, the other games were unnecessary.
