Why aren't there more games set in a biblical setting? Of all the historical eras this is the ones that seems so criminally underused.
Because there's over a billion Christians in the world and it's going to offend some of them no matter how you handle it.

Sumeria? India? Mongolia?
Anyway, it's probably the same reason game devs don't do anything revolving around islam. Fear of the fallout from offending fundies.
Gamedevs are fedora

>there will never be a PS4 cinematic game going over the rise and fall of King David using cringy writing, excessive lighting and animation, very little gameplay besides what's on-rails, and the need to include sex every five minutes
>also they won't make David black to fill minority quotas and piss /pol/ off because KEK KEK KEK memes

gtfo, christian. your kind doesn't belong here. religion has been proved false by modern science and anthprology.

>Bible set on earth
>Hurr why are there no biblical settings?
Dominions 4 has nations that are based on the Old Testament and apocryphal Christian writing.

But the real issue, I think, is that a game that uses all the sick shit you can find in the Bible would be firmly rated 'M', which would limit sales and rustle way too many jimmies. The version of Christianity you get on Sundays is heavily sanitized for a reason.

Nah, if they were fedora they would be somewhat more likely to touch the time period. Most game devs are probably just "cultural Christians" who don't care that much about religion.
