You play as the other characters who have to fight monsters until Saitama shows up. Considering one single strong monster can fuck up most of the S class heroes besides Tatsumaki, it would probably be easy to make it challenging. I like what the other guy said about easy mode though. Make it a Saitama mode where you basically just get cinematic ultra gib kills instantly. And make an ultrahard mode where you play as Mumen Rider.

It would be an incredibly effective game if you played Saitama and had it as easy as he does. You'd feel his boredom, as every fight is instantly over. Sometimes you'd let the enemies do all their moves, just cause it looks different, before killing them.

As long as you add a decent life sim experience on top of it, it'd work out just fine.

I kept having to tone the game down in difficulty and swap powers around/take off gems to keep myself from one-shotting Diablo to get two of the new Necromancer achievements. It was quite frustrating, I fucked it up like 6 different times and had to keep running back through that level to get to the fight only to butcher it and not get cheevo credit

Make it about the side characters, just like the manga. You could have Saitama-only levels that either pit you against ultra-powerful enemies, have you do non-combat challenges, or have them just be joke levels in the spirit of the webcomic and manga and have him defeat every enemy in one hit.

What if Saitama is the final unlockable character? You must be able to complete near impossible trials and hone your skills with the other characters so that once you finally unlock Saitama you have truly mastered the game. Alternatively, play as Saitama, but make the game be about being in the right place at the right time. If you fuck up then the city gets destroyed and you lose. Or you have to find enemies to beat in time or you lose your hero status.

Focus on trying to traverse around the various cities to get to action scenes while trying to minimize collateral damage. Build in some kind of morality system that reflects how you choose to handle fights (Ending them quickly with gratuitous bloody explosions, versus possibly talking an enemy into surrendering). Lots of different little side jobs like getting groceries or rescuing stranded animals and stuff.

You have an excitement and boredom meter instead of a combo meter. Saitama needs to get hit by powerful attacks from enemies while avoiding weak ones. Every heavy hit increases his excitement meter while weak hits increase his boredom. If his boredom maxes out, he leaves, and it's game over. If you max out your excitement, you get a finisher for the main boss of the round/level/area. Boss monsters are surrounded by and preceded by weak monsters who only throw weak attacks. You can kill weak monsters to maintain but not increase excitement. Excitement decreases over time, but boredom does as well at a slower pace unless you play on hard.

The main point will be to watch for tells of powerful attacks from boss monsters and keeping track of weak mobs so you don't accidentally get hit by weak attacks. On hard, weak attacks will also drain excitement.

Saitama is arguably the most human character of the series if for no other reason than his motives and hobbies are so unbelievably banal. He's pretty much a caricature of what any average, disillusioned person with a decent moral compass would become if they suddenly woke up as the strongest being in the world.

you cant be beaten, but you spend all day doing fetch quests essientially. protect the town, save 5 people in different locations. time and ability is all you can toss into this game so itll be like dead rising. the ability to ignore the main storyline and fail miserably, but still make it to the helicopter, or go out of your way to make sure everyone survives

You make a mixture of Asura's Wrath and Persona, where in between events you prepare while playing as the other characters of the cast as you please, each with their own timeline that is fully playable with leveling systems.
Saitama will be max level from the word go but his timeline will be the most introspective of all and every day before an event he will have a dream where you fight an awesome, more powerful and monstrous version of the upcoming boss.
The events would be you trying your best to triumph with your character of choice, the main goal being to survive long enough to fill your bar and activate Saitama arriving for the finish. I've actually thought of a whole system where this could work and be interesting, but I'd be here typing longer than the thread would be open.

Make the game a Fighting game and make it so Saitama doesn't actually attack you. His moves will actually be just the monsters trying to attack him, but fail and hit the opponent instead.
Alternatively, he could be a guest fighter in some fighting game and have that same concept. I kind of want him to be a DLC character for Injustice 2 and see his intro dialogue with other characters.

The whole point (and name) of the show is that you know the punchline as soon as the story starts. There's a guy so strong he beats everything in one punch.

Morrowind, you can break the game with potions, spells, enchantments, buffs, and the mudcrab merchant+training

It's weirdly satisfying to walk through Sixth House temples that were spooky as fuck the first time, but because you've got permanent Night Eye and 40 points of Speed fortification on your clothing and a ring that drains 100 health for 2 seconds you can literally just run through tapping enemies, or ignore attacks while you loot and kill whatever it is on the way out the door

I think I have an idea that could work pretty well.

Games starts off with business man saitama and follows his chronicles to get stronger.
Players constantly given new randomly generated and user/developer created challenges and enemies that get stronger with every victory.
However they can only get stronger.
Once the player reaches one punch man status continuing the game is up to them.
It will be extremely boring because they would no longer be able to pull off combos, and everyone does in one hit.
The idea is for the player and saitsma to grow bored over the course of the game
