I've considered the Atari box, those old games are fun and janky on their own merits when you're not paying $80 USD a piece, but the possibility of this not just being a Rare Collection/Sony PSN-tier bad emulator in a box is literally 0/10.

For this "console" to succeed, it needs to have some sort of distinctive feature or good exclusive title(s) that would make a consumer want to buy one over a Switch or a PS4. The only note-worthy exclusive Atari has been pushing out as of recent is Rollercoaster Tycoon, which flopped on its ass after what we saw from RCTW. Assuming that the Ataribox will most likely lack good exclusives, I just don't see how this hardware is supposed to succeed unless they cut down the price significantly to fool the simple-minded.

This thing could be awesome if it ends up being a combination of old and new. Like if it has sports/racing/FPS/RPG alongside arcade games and platformers and puzzle games. They can use the Atari branding to bring in the old school crowd and use the PC architecture to attract the third parties to make the more modern games.
