You have daily checkin rewards to instill addictive behavior, you have item sets which makes people splurge money in order to get the last part since they feel "they are almost there". You have transactions that make other transactions more efficient (extra lifes to make refills more efficient), you have slot machines that make you feel you almost hit a big item while in reality its rigged to give crap 99% of the time, which also feeds into gambling addiction, you have items that you have to pay for in order not to lose something you just were given (you will lose all your loot unless you buy an extra life for 50 cents), and much much more. Its just torture to increase the dopamine rush and post purchase rationalisation when people buy in.
Ever noticed how every premium money system has the same scale of transactions. The lowest is 10 bucks and the highest 100 bucks, every single time. That isnt coincidence. Also all of them talk about how the 100$ is the best deal, but the 50$ is the most picked or recommended deal. Dont worry dearest customer, you can either shop like the other people, or shop smart for the big option, either way nobody judges you for pissing away your money.
