I don't know why this was the thing in particular, but I guess I was just excited to find more people to improve my castle and made me love the game

>eventually get to THAT part
>there's this really famous twist in the game that I'm not going to spoil cause it's one of the best video game plot twists ever, not even joking
>hit me like a fucking truck, little 12 year old me gets his brain blown open
>stare agape at the screen for what felt like an hour as my brain matter dripped off the walls
>from that moment on I loved that game more then any other
>replayed it over 20 times over the course of my teenage years
>don't play it as much anymore, occasionally pick it up and do a playthrough when I feel like a good old nostalgia rush
>still my favorite game of all time

The final fight against Ilias in MGQ
The theme, four heavenly knights appearing, the flashback for all villages around the world fighting against the angels and the fuckign build up throughout the game.
I really did like this game before this fight, but after this fight i can safely say that i fucking love Monsumu Quest.

That's when I realized Haunting Ground was my favorite game. The team managed to make a psychotic character, without making her either silly or an edge-master. The puzzles in the game were perfect, too.
