I just don't understand why these types of games are the ones that rarely get translated. You have a comparatively livelier VN translation scene despite the fact they require a metric fuckton of actual work being put in them in comparison. This is certainly not CM3D, so no neverending translation loop here and a team of 3 guys could easily pull a project like this off (or just one proper translator if he can code and clean up the messy parts). If I knew Japanese, I would do it in a heartbeat through Patreon or some shit, considering how much stuff Japanese churn out and how little competition you have.

What's the problem with donations? I know one guy who takes pledges on per project basis but only for RPG Maker games. Sure most qualified translators wouldn't cram in such a low-key additional work like this in their schedule (considering how well Japanese pays off), but some upstarts and learning monkeys can do it and have some nice practice along the way. The only problem is probably that if you know Japanese, you'd rather not waste your time on H-games and they are not something you can show for reference in future while the pay is meager. Can't think of other reasons.

Amateur is fine unless you are are not doing machine translation (hell, even Google Translate can sometimes make sense if you ignore it constantly shitting the bed with use of pronouns). H-games' fetish fuel is not rocket science, thus not much experience is needed. As for the guy, he may be not so well off for whatever country he might be from but that kind of funds is hard to come by in my shithole even with legit job.
