You're cherry picking pretty damn hard there in your attempt to refute this.
There is no doubt an overlap between European and American game news and journalism. So with America pushing the whole "PSX" thing it's no wonder it slipped into a few European outlets too. But those were by far outliers and by no means the norm. Almost no publications called it the PSX in Europe. Especially not post-launch.

The arguments hold very true for America. But don't go pretending it was the same in Europe just because you found a few exceptions.

As someone who grew up calling the big model "playstation" and the small model "ps one", where the fuck did "psx" come from? is that a backronym, like, "well fuck, we have the ps one, and a ps two coming out, what do we call the old block model?"
