My favourite is Taris. Really nice start, immersive atmosphere, not bogged down in all the force stuff and you're not pressured into anything yet. I like to be a badass gunslinger.

It's also interesting because you start of very poor like the rest of the people on taris, and you've gotta find ways to get money.

For me the worst one is kashyyyk. Looks ugly, boring quests and lore. Big Z is so whiny all the time about shit, and although I've come to understand how they work and why they did what they did, wookiees are the most racists cunts alive.

IIRC dual wield is technically stronger than double by the sole nature of having more crystal slots. However that's also limited by actually getting those crystals, and some of the best ones don't have a guaranteed location.

Then there's also the higher crit range on single bladed sabers, but that's more negligible.

You can't go wrong, but keep in mind the strength of your force powers is based off of alignment as well.

For example Heal is more effective as a Light-side, Force Lightning is more effective as Dark.

I actually just finished a playthrough like that.

It's viable. One of the strongest obtainable weapons in the game is actually a blaster rifle. I think the top possible damage for a single hilt saber is like (7-31) when upgraded, whereas there are unique vibroblades that can be upgraded to (6-36) and a blaster rifle that can be upgraded to (6-38) and they all keep the same crit chance too.

The problem you're gonna be in with using a blaster is that lightsaber users will reflect some damage back to you. However this reflected damage will be independent of the damage you deal to them, they take full damage from your attacks, you just happen to take partial damage from it too. If you level Dex and find the light armor that has high armor but still allows you a +6 Dex bonus (there are a couple of those in the game you can come across) you should be able to dispose of lightsaber users fairly easily.

Just remember to rely on items and force powers unrestricted by armor. Also a couple of hints:
1) Level at least one force power that can target and damage mechanical units - you need it for the final boss or else you'll have to deal with him healing to full HP when you bring him down 8 times in a row.
2) Bosses can be a pain because they use lightsabers and have a bunch of HP which means it gets reflected to you. You can still take them on if you built your character well, but if you're on a high difficulty - use land mines. They're overpowered and basically there's nothing the jedi bosses can do against them.
3) Level treat injury to at least 10-15 before the final levels, stock up on advanced medpaks and life support paks, they're basically cheating.
4) Level up toughness, conditioning and optionally implants to tier 3, they can make you outright invulnerable to everything but the last level enemies.

Also, single saber has some defensive feats available targeted at castery builds.
