>turn AI difficulty to hard
>only affects enemy AI
>your friendlies are all dumb as fuck
>playing CSGO in singleplayer
>>383086226
>turn ai difficulty to easy
>the characters play extremely well
>>383086226
>changing difficulty
>changing AI at all
What are you even talking about?
Difficulty only changes HP, damage and number of units.
>>383086534
Not for all games. I remember CoD4 and WAW it made your enemies genuinely dumb as fuck on lower levels, but on higher ones they were more like an actual person playing COD would be.
>turn AI to hard
>game gets easier
>>383086635
>it made your enemies genuinely dumb as fuck on lower levels, but on higher ones they were more like an actual person playing COD would be
Are you implying people who play CoD aren't genuinely dumb as fuck?
>>383086797
Read the context. The ones that play cod well play the game smart. You know what i meant. They made it play the game better.
>raise game's difficulty
>it gets a lot easier
>>383086960
>The ones that play cod well play the game smart
I'm just going to continue implying, desu
>>383087087
If you're doing well at cod you're playing the game smart. You know the mechanics and you know how to use them to your advantage. We're being awfully semantic here.
>switch game to highest difficulty
>it becomes playable
>ai stands in front of you
>can't clip through them
>can't go around them
>lock you in a corner of a room with no way out other than restarting
i FUCKING HATE when games do this. Make allies no clip when cover is a mechanic for fuck's sake. Last thing I need is to be in a room next to a window or door or something and get boxed in by an ally.
>ai cheats on you
>level up
>game becomes harder
>>383086723
>You take it more seriously knowing the slightest error could result in mission failure.
>Every enemy gets double-tapped. No survivors. Let God sort them out.
>Playing on Easy/Medium difficulty.
>Take enemies less seriously.
>Practically speed running through the game just to get to the end.
>Ignoring some enemies while getting hit.
>Die in the dumbest spot by an enemy that I never thought could kill me.
There are definitely times playing on the hardest difficulty makes it easier on me.
>>383086534
I was playing re4 on pro after finishing the normal game and i'm pretty sure the enemies attack faster and are more aggressive in general.
>>383091252
Also, it seems like they aim better on pro
>>383090172
i thought things were supposed to get easier when you worked harder
>>383091887
But the enemies are more talented, so when you trained 2 lvls, they trained 4.
you guys ever feel like sometimes you play a level or a section so much that the game just starts to feel bad for you and dumbs itself down a shade or two? i usually feel that way. i'll find something incredibly hard and die like, 30-40 times in a row then suddenly breeze through it. i think the game is just like "jesus christ give the kid a break he's obviously retarded or something" and makes it easier for me.
>Everyone claims game is good
>Game is bad
>Really bad
>Bad enough to make a masochist decide it isn't worth their time to keep fighting against the horseshit of all the game mechanics coming together to render shit impossible to complete and change the difficulty from Hard to Casual just to reach the credits and uninstall
>AI is praised to be learning from the player and perform very well
>its actually complete trash and jumps to death every time and cancels casts due to jumping or whatnot
looking at you dragons dogma
>>383086635
>I remember CoD4 and WAW it made your enemies genuinely dumb as fuck on lower levels, but on higher ones they were more like an actual person playing COD would be.
>play WaW
>choose Veteran difficulty
>kill enemy, run into cover
>hunker down for one microsecond
>grenade
>grenade
>grenade
>grenade
>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade
>>383094425
Maybe it wasn't WAW. Maybe it was 3. I don't know I always confuse MW1/2/3's campaigns together and all of the WW2 cod campaigns together.
>>383094425
>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade>grenade

Earth Defense force 4.1 has the insect AI change were on the hardest difficulty (inferno) they instantly attack you as soon as they are in range, while lower difficulties they pause for a few seconds and then attack at varying ranges.
Also have different attack spreads as well, with lower amounts of ant acid shot at you on lower difficulties
Are there any games with good AI? There seems to be a disconnect in combat games. It's like they either have bullshit pixel perfect AI that uses the game engine to know where you are and cheese you, or they try simulating a real human being in the game rather than another player. Do any games accurately make their AI react like it's another player playing the game, and not just an actual human being in the game reacting like an actual human being would?
>turn ai difficulty to hard
>enemies are sponges
>you take one hit to die
>when changing the difficulty does something other than changing the enemey's health and damage
>>383086226
>turn ai to hard
>try to save dumbass friendlies
>save all of them
>almost end of the level
>one dies
>restart because i want my fake friends alive
