The game went from 16k to 8k down to 4k and now barely 2.5k regular players left by this point due to various long term issues with the game on Steam. Like a really bad example is that the devs had an issue where other players could trick the game into letting it get access to other players perks and sell them off, and that took about a month before the devs pushed an update out since they wanna cram as much stuff into a patch as possible so they can push it out on PS4 & Xbox One right afterwords. They even had one of the devs state in the announcement thread that it wouldn't be a bad idea for people to just play other games for the time being, instead of giving any real updates or anything on what was going on.

Now we have this deal with them being handed the ban hammer on Steam out of goodwill or whatever, since they're not in any rush to make an actual report system in the game, and people are just finally fed up past the point of no return.
