Breath of the wild is amazing, splat2n will be a lot of fun. The first splatoon on Wii u got me like 500 hours in. You'll get your money out of the console

Splatoon is what's really drawing me in, I love customization and the art style is just killer but I'm pretty indicisive since I just bought a ton of games in the steam sale too.

If you aren't dying to get it I saw wait a bit. They still have a lot to do to make it a more complete console and they'll start bundling it with games soon I imagine

Watched a couple of vids on Splatoon 2, looks just like Splatoon 1 with some new additions. Not bad but not great either. Multiplayer is decent but can't say the base game is that rewarding and the single player is meh.

You're better off getting the Senran Kagura Peach Beach Splash for the PS4. Not only can you control a bunch of sexy school girls wetting each other with water guns but the gameplay is actually good, there's a card system to upgrade your weapons/stats, good single player, good multiplayer and lots of ingame unlockables. Perfect shooter in the Summer over Splat2, which is more of the same as Splat1 and I know because I got the Wii U before I sold it and bought the Switch and PS4.

I would say yeah. if you play the game just because you want to explore and have fun, its a blast. Most criticisms of it take the time to find things to nitpick about while playing, and that obviously ruins the experience. I'm not trying to say its perfect, but if you play it because you enjoy exploring, it's definitely worth it

The titles you announced are great but I would hold off on by the Switch for the time being until more games are announced at the Tokyo Game Show coming out later this year.

I mean unless you plan playing the Switch frequently and don't mind waiting for weeks/months for the games you like, I would recommend holding off until there's enough games to go with it.

The Switch is what I always wanted from a Nintendo console, but you shouldn't buy any console unless there are games you know you want for it.

Simply put, it wouldn't hurt to wait before you know you want it.

If you're going to get it ever, you'll have more fun getting it now than later. Then you'll have a chance to participate in live events and stuff, which would be especially relevant if you're interested in Splatoon.
You'd even be able to participate in the Cake vs Icecream Spaltfest for free later this month if you'd get a Switch in time.

Unless you're really short on money. Or if you're actually not interested at all. Then just go for it.
And yeah. Breath of the Wild is pretty damn amazing. But I wouldn't want to force my opinion on you.

But as I said. If you're going to get one eventually, there isn't much reason to wait. I doubt the price would ever go down much if ever. At the very least not until it's a legacy system.
But just do whatever. You probably shouldn't let people online dictate your decisions for you. But to me it sounds like there are quite a few games you're interested in upcoming and on the horizon. And a fair warning speaking from experience. The Switch might be tough enough to get your hands on as is. So be aware that it'll likely be damn near impossible near the holiday season and the advent of Mario Odyssey.
