Best LOTR adventuring games would Return of the King, LOTR Third Age, and Lotr War in the North. I think the old Hobbit game was pretty good too.

Has anyone played any of the LotR conversion mods for the Total War games? Looks like there's The Fourth Age for Rome: Total War, and Third Age for Medieval II. Wondering if they're worth a go.

Get third age for Med 2 it's god tier. Although I recommend getting submods for it too. Mos is just Third Age+ and lore friendly. Divide and Conquer is less lore friendly, do some questionable things (trolls of the white hand for example) but works so much better with Total War gameplay and have more factions.

PC Battle for Middle Earth games (1/2/RotWK), especially RotWK+Edain Mod.
Third Age Total War Mod for Medieval 2 Total War, both with MOS Submod or Divide and Conquer Submod, MOS is more a kitchen sink addon with a lot of shit while DAC focuses more on quality new additions.

Conquest is a garbage Battlefield clone that is messy as fuck with a metric fuckton of bugs but retards like it for some reason.

The Last Days of The Third Age for M&B is pretty good, too. The way you get troops is really different than regular M&B and can take some getting used to though.

I've been meaning to play it but I remember it only being available for the vanilla M&B which is garbage compared to Warband.
Did it ever get ported to Warband? If so, I know what I'm doing this weekend.

I like it, playing it on and off right now. Not really looking forward to Helm's Deep and Edoras is pretty annoying. Is Morwen unironically useless? I have finished the game lots of times, and now I'm trying to mix up my squad. Elegost is pretty stronk with the debuffs, but Morwen takes two hits and is down and doesnt do anything aside from damage, and since her stats are awful she either misses or does pitifully low dmg.
