>renting a console
confirmed poorfag
honestly never even rented games until around the xbox 360 age. Not sure if it was my feeble childhood mind but i felt like games just had more replayability back then.

>i felt like games just had more replayability back then.
They did, and they were better too.
But I grew up with blockbuster and renting games is only fun when it'd your parents paying and they get you a Dr pepper with some airhead extremes to go with it

>Tfw those snacks cost 5 dollars.

Those cookie dough bites were delicious. Also Choco Tacos.
>you will never rent OG XBOX games and burn them onto your Xbox's hard drive ever again
>>382971935
some people say its just nostalgia, but honestly even at 21 i can still go back and play those games for hours, yet the "newest cool games" cant hold my attention for 20 minutes.
>>382972549
Games now focus more on quantity over quality.

The last game I spent more then an hour on was The Witcher 3...it kinda saids something about modern gaming when so many games have been released and most are trash.
>>382972549
This. I'm 26 but since a few years ago I found myself enjoying mostly 6th gen and earlier games. I still play new releases but probably one or two a year.
Why can't modern games just be cool and fun to play like 6th gen and early 7th gen games. Too many games now a days take themselves too serious and all the characters are morally ambiguous assholes. Open world meme has really killed my interest for modern games and drove me to recently play old games for the summer.

There are so many random ass mature games on Xbox. I owned the console and tend to consider myself (like most /v/ users) ontop of most releases. I typically know about most game franchises or releases - but there is just this blind spot for me on the Xbox where all these mature new IP one-shots. Casual shovelware can be forgoven for not getting marketing, but today's industry simply doesn't release stuff without marketing. Never played or heard of Breakdown.
>>382973956
because they don't sell and game developers become bankrupt. blame it on the xbox fan base
Man, i remember going to a local kiosk and renting a megaman 4 for my nes, because didnt have it, nor my parents didnt want to buy it for me.
>>382972519
This.
Ripped PS2 and PSone games too.
>tfw you need to get DL layer discs for some games
>then find out you could have just spent an hour scrubbing ISO's because of dummy files

Damn, I can feel your insecurity from here. I hope you live somewhere with free mental healthcare.

One man's trash is another man's treasure. I miss when gaming wasn't mainstream and marketing didn't overruled success or enjoyment of a game. I wish Microsoft would give second chances to all of there ips that bombed hard from 6th gen.

They are. Xbox back compat.
>>382972549
This to be honest. The most recent game to hold my attention like crazy is the new Crash remake. Probably because for some reason they just knew how to design better, funner, games back then.
>>382976416
It really sucks that fun unique games aren't as popular as the mainstream shit that normie masses play.
I remember that I rented
The little mermaid for NES
Cruising USA
Mario Kart 64
Turok 64
For some reason the little mermaid one is the one that I still lively remember

I know Family Video when I see it.
>>382971125
WHOA
Did all Family Video game sections look like this? Because this looks identical in every way to the one my parents used to take me to in the 64-GC era
>>382979690
what are you getting at exactly? Im sorry i didnt grow up in your super cool commodore 64 days
>>382971125
Would renting retro consoles nowadays make any profit from nostalgia fags?
>>382983185
I doubt you'd have enough people in most town/cities to rent them to
