Prophesy of Pendor is probably my favorite
that Wild West mod is fun and something different
there's a pretty good Star Wars mod for the original M&B

Full Invasion is pretty fun with friends.

floris by far , it increases dificulty but it adds more depth to the game and the mod developers still improve the mod by adding more mods to the mod , or improving the already present ones

Diplomacy is the only good one I've played. The big ones tend to change too much and are too convoluted. They ruin what originally made the game fun.
