God tier magic system

I feel like the PS1 and PS2 offered the greatest amount of diversity of games and the greatest freedom for developers and publishers to just safely make whatever the fuck they wanted.

Maybe it was the low cost to make games, the ease and speed, the willingness to play anything by the consumer gamer, or something else

Once the 360 and PS3 came out, so many IP's disappeared right off the bat, and mid way into the generation, even more companies went defunct or were absorbed along with even more franchises.

I mainly blame the increasing casual market and laziness and attraction to normie safe games but who knows.

PS1 and PS2 were truly the golden age of consoles and games. Top tier quality games were being shit out on a daily basis.

Not so much these days.

I think D started off trying to be a Silent Hill type game but D2 just takes things to weird places. Also it adds combat.

Funny story about D2's production - it was never supposed to be released in the form that it did. It was heavily censored, so much that the censored version was not the same game. Before the game got the OK to release, only the censored version was allowed... but the creator was so offended that he switched the gold disc for the uncensored one and that's the one that went to print.

I actually contacted the guy who was doing translation on tumblr and asked if I could help him out (I speak moon), but he never replied.

Anyway, if you like Mizzurna Falls I recommend trying Worlds on Steam (too bad the sale is just over).
It's not quite the same, but I got that nice silent winter village feel from one of the first maps. Plus, it's a really good game.
