I'm 40 hours in and loving it so far. Haven't played too many jrpgs, but I like the combat. The jazzy soundtrack is also right up my alley

I never really played Persona games for fancy dungeons so P5 felt like work after a while. I'd recommend playing Persona 3 though if you haven't

You do have to finish dungeons with at least 1 day left to spare tho. Also, be aware that you don't fight the bosses at the end of the dungeon like in P4. After you get to the end, you have to come back the next day to fight the boss. I wasted a day my first playthrough because I didn't know this. Also, the Fortune confidant is INCREDIBLY useful. Get her up to Rank 7 ASAP, and you should have no trouble maxing out every confidant if you manage your time well. Other than that, there's nothing really important to know. Enjoy.

But every single SP recovery item from the vending machines of the school, they restock every week.

Buy a plant as soon as you can and use fertilizer for free kinddness points.

Drink the juice every sunday on the metro for stats.

Takemi sells SP recovery accsesories when you get her to lvl 7, makes you recover SP every turn in battle allowing you to stay longer on dungeons and save time.

I think that's all.

Yeah you need to finish dungeons like two days before the deadline to fight the boss, but you really should be able to complete the dungeon long before that.
Besides that the only advice is to always save when you go to a safe room and to max out the politician confidant.

Just read books whenever you can, they're some of the best stat boosters there is. And don't worry about timing, the game will yell at you all the time so you know how much time you have left

I respect your opinion Anons but you know most of the dialogue is very repetitive throughout the game, most notable all the in-dungeon chat and texts during the week. Also think thouroughly about the social links, did you REALLY help them? Did you presence and support help people change their view of the world or the way they act? Or did you do some mumbo jumbo in Mementos at certain points to make their life easier?

Mate, each game has different approach to SLinks.
P3 Protag SLinks didn't make the people's lives easier.
You LITERALLY tell them what they want to hear as opposed to what you should really be telling them in P3.
Whereas in P2 the best way and only real way to get all benefits, is to let your companions handle all their problems themselves.
And in P5 you act instead of either up front telling them to fix their own shit or just telling them sweet sweet lies that they want to hear, you act as a sort of shadowy guardian, helping them out through Mentos the Freshmaker.

I do agree with this, but to me personally it's a minor annoyance at most. Definitely not a deal breaker.

Helping people through their issues emotionally is how P3 and P4 handled S-Links, yeah, but I feel that viewing P5's confidants like that isn't entirely accurate. P5's confidants are more about forming a mutually beneficial relationship with people who have been taken advantage of or are outcasts. As you get to know each other better, you form a friendship and learn more about their problems, which are often caused by an authority figure taking advantage of them, or just by the system fucking them over. Fighting this kind of abuse is what the Phantom Thieves are all about, so you go into Mementos and help them out. Helping them out in Mementos never felt out of place or forced, because it's just a continuation of your Phantom Thieves work. Honestly, I thought that the Confidants in P5 fit a lot more thematically than S-Links did.

here is some advice. level up Tae, the doctors SL and she will sell you trickets that will restore your SP every turn in battle. the lack of SP items in the game a scares so it really helps if you wanna finish a dungeon in a few days.

the girls like getting gifts so you can buy those and give it to them to speed up their SLs.

you should focus on getting the sun SL as fast as possible by speaking with a politician at night near the train station in the city and work part-time job at the beef bowl shop at one point. his abilities are useful to capture demo- i mean personas and you only need to see him once every Sunday.

What IS great about P5 links is how much they impact gameplay in fights and the actual game. They nailed that.

They already did, 10 years ago on PSP.
And Atlus USA in all their idiocy only translated the first half of the game (Innocent Sin) without translating the second half (Eternal Punishment) due to PSP's rampant piracy at the time.
As a giant fuck you to the fans asking for it, they just released the censored and butchered PS1 original on PS Store and told people to play that instead.
