I got Pro eventhough I only play at 1080p, simply because I wanted better performance AND real-deal 1080p WITH anti-aliasing, as sub-900p at 24fps isn't acceptable in late-2010s in my opinion.

Still, OP should just get a PC.

yes get the pro so that when you do get a 4k screen you already have something to utilize it

Sure. In some games it has better framerate/resolution or more stable FPS compared to regular PS4. It's not that much more expensive anyway so go for it. Just ordered my today.

The Pro is mixed bag. Most games will definitely run better but others will have issues not even present on the basic PS4. I don't think is worth it at all.

This. I have the pro and it handles certain games a little better than the regular PS4. For instance, in Bloodborne, I don't get MORE FPS, I get higher lows. My friend's regular PS4 would sometimes dip as low as what appears single digit FPS in areas with a lot of enemies while my pro drops to say, 15 FPS.

In a game capped at 30FPS, such a higher low is noticeable. Also the larger surface area of the pro compared to the OG PS4 and the new slim model allows for better (see quieter) cooling. That same friend of mine, even after dusting his PS4 and not having it stuffed into a tiny cramped space, it still screams like a vacuum cleaner when under load while my pro is a faint hum.

All comes down to price and what you're willing to spend. My PC was around $3k with monitor, so the $750 spent on the pro, headset, games, 2nd controller, and dual controller charger dock was really nothing for stuff I'll be using all the time.

I play on a 32" 1440p monitor if that matters.
