Hi /v/, today I want to share with you my sadness.
I just finished this game and it was quite a let down for me.
In the past I playes SuperStar Saga and Bowser's Inside Story, and I loved both. They are 10/10 games for me.
Now, knowing that this game was about dreams and motherfucking Luigi, I was expecting something that could give me a lot of fun and another great experience.
However, after the first few hours, the game became terribly boring.
This are my main issues with this game
>unskippable tutorials every fucking time
>every 5 minutes you get stopped by some character that has useless things to say
>the brothers combo attacks are useless, except for a couple of them
>often you find yourself unable to kill every enemy on screen in a reasonable time, so the fights become something that slows down the game
>the dream world is a badly designed 2d mario game
>the music is forgettable as fuck, only the woods have a nice
>level design is terrible, the areas are uninspired, aside from, again, the woods area

What the fuck did happen? Now I'm going to play Paper Jam but I'm scared, is it going to be like this?

Paper Jam is a mixed bag, the level design isn't nearly as good as the first entries, but the bosses have never been this good

Pretty much the same deal as the combos in Dream Team, exception they removed the gyroscope from them entirely.
Some get recycled from Dream Team with the gyroscope stripped out.

Fuck that shit for fuck's sake.
It went berserk too often when I needed it the most, especially using the brother's slingshot or during THAT fight where you have to spin the hammer around the arena and fuck you end up falling down.

Paper Jam's primary issue is that half the time you're running around looking for paper toads for no real reason. Also the Papercraft battles are okay but the novelty wears off after the first one. The music is par for the course (although unlike you I enjoyed a lot of Dream Teams' Tracks) And there's no forced gyroscope controls like dream team so it's hit or miss really.

Personally I enjoy it less than Dream Team.

PJ is a missed opportunity. The pace is ruined every new area you go to collect paper roads for half an hour and they don't take advantage of the paper crossover idea at all. The Papercraft battles are a slog, too. I had fun with DT a ton of a lot more than PJ, considering I dropped PJ altogether.

Probably around the art-style transition or beforehand. I enjoyed BiS thoroughly but I think looking back it it I spent less time with it than the others. Maybe i'll go back and see if it's worth it's time.
