Crash is bigger than Mario, so it's inevitable that Crash, at the very least, outsells Mario Odyssey. I know BOTW is not selling all that well, but the Switch doesn't have any other games right now, so it might slightly edge it out.

I'm predicting ten million units sold world wide, if the game keeps selling at it's current pace. Playstation has a massive install base of people who love these games.

When does it come out in Japan?

Trusted industry analysts such as ZhugeEX agree with my assessment. Crash is a huge icon, and not one that's been milked in recent years. People have been yearning for a new Crash game, and the sales are reflecting that.

Even Knack, the modern Crash Bandicoot, ended up outperforming 3D World. That's how strong Crash is as a brand.

The Japanese versions of 2 and 3 had in-level hints which were given to you by Aku Aku when you collected a mask at certain points, so I'd guess they're adding that. Crash 3 also had CG cutscenes at points as well as the Pocketstation minigames, and 2 has that fucking crazy music video as a 100% completion unlockable, but I can't see them adding any of those.
