Why does /v/ hate frugal PC gamers?
Seriously, every time I say you don't need the most expensive hardware to enjoy AAA titles I immediately get called a poorfag.
The only good pc games barely need anything above a toaster anyway

this desu
/v/ is 5% children, 5% butthurt, and 90% hot gas.
>>382917854
Because they need to justify spending that much money
What's the point if you don't feel like you've "achieved" something
pcbros are hypocrites
>>382917854
I don't want to blame it all on 9/11, but...
because they're trolling, you dumb poorfag
Well, there is wisdom in saying to not go cheap all the time. Sometimes its worth the extra month or two of saving your pennies to get something a little nicer.

We don't hate frugal gamers, we like annoying people by zeroing-in on possible angles. People are sensitive about being poor, so get called out on it.
>>382917854
The only people who hate cheap pcs are consolefag false flaggers.
>>382918704
Ahahaha
>>382918704
>I'm eating a half-frozen pizza, fuck your cooking directions: it tastes good to ME!
>>382917854
It's shitposting, just don't mind it.
>>382918571
Poor isn't the same as frugal. If I have 1500 dollars after bills and shit the smart thing is to get a cheap pc and invest or save the rest. Others would spend the whole load, retards would get a 2k pc with 500 on credit.
>>382917854
Talking shit about someone's toaster isn't hating them you fucking mongoloid
>>382917854
STFU poor fag.
>>382918704
I think the real takeaway here is that devs should strive for 60 fps on all hardware instead of forcing people on laptops to have a shit experience. Otherwise what's the point of PC, if you force everyone to have the same hardware?
>>382919169
That guy plays Skyrim on a Mac.
>>382917956
This.
What I do though is just buy older games since they are cheap and for the most part will run excellent on subpar systems. My favorite games though are rogue likes and you don't need anything powerful for those.
>>382919586
I know way too many people who built godly pcs then continued to play LoL or WoW or dota2 or whatever shitgame they were addicted to and didn't use those graphics at all.
At least buy total war or something.
>>382918521
There's a difference between skimping on important parts and intentionally buying outdated hardware to save money and still be able to play games.
>>382918842
> food analogies
>>382918521
Usually because the more expensive product will be made to last. This saying however isn't the case for any sort of modern technology; you're usually paying more for an improved experience and obsolescence is planned for like 5 years.
Spending more money on an instrument, furniture, clothing, footware, materials, etc is paying to ensure it holds up to use.
>>382920368
To a point. Quality caps out long before cost does. At some point you're basically paying for a brand name.

poorfag
I don't hate pc gaming just the pc gamers themselves. They are the Mormons of the gaming community. I don't understand why their always trying to recruit console gamers to their master race platform. Most of the fun games are on consoles and the emulation isn't even perfected or decent.
