ITT: games you can't get good at
I can't ever grow to a huge city, and I'm terrible at making it aesthetic.

mate...

if you were able to make a giant city that works perfectly, the game would be boring.
once you know the formulat on how to keep everyone happy and satisfied, the game becomes monotonous and mundane and thats not fun.
it's more fun as long as you dont know the perfect way to play.

I suppose you have a point.

ROUNDABOUTS

are not always the answer to your traffic woes.

Which DLC is worth it? I already have the base game but might as well buy stuff on sale
What is the best way to start your first roads?
>>382909627
the most important stuff got added via free updates.
the best DLCs are Mass Transit and after Dark.
Snowfall is nice but restricted to specific maps.
and Natural Disasters doesnt appeal to most people i imagine.
most other stuff can be found in the steam workshop.
once you near 100,000k population, your CPU will begin to bottleneck, at least on the higher speeds, even if its 4.2 ghz like mine
so you can no longer fast forward time, and then i guess if you get enough, the whole city will begin to slow down below even regular time, and only become slower as it grows larger, unfortunately

Just play if you fuck up make a new area and try again. There's no losing

the game is way too easy, if they added people who would riot over taxes and shit and start fires that could spread, to say, a nuclear reactor, it would be so much cooler
but they left that out of the disasters DLC because they dont want to put fucking violence in their game even though it would make for so much more dynamic challenges and gameplay

Okay thanks

really? Never had a slow down and my pc isn't that great, but I have a problem when you reach around 300k, your umnemployment rate skyrockets (i've reached 60% one time) because I think there is a cap in the number of active units on the map so around this point people can't leave their homes anymore or something like it
>>382911739
i only noticed it slowing down at 2 or 3x the speed at around 100k population
seriously, 300k, if you try to speed up time it should do absolutely nothing, thats how you know if you're reaching a bottleneck

ive had lots of weird shit happen but it all seems to be related to traffic and people being unable to reach a certain zone like commercial or industrial, or some service, like hospitals or cemetaries
