I mean it wasn't bad by any means and I actually kind of liked the flashback sequences but it's hard creating interesting level designs for a dude who can dash everywhere.

Also the final boss was really odd

Other than that I loved it, even if I think it's the weakest of the 3.

At least it had unique levels. Plague Knight was more fun but I already beat those fucking levels at least 3 times before it came out.

Anything that gives me an excuse to play Shovel Knight again is fine by me. The only thing I didn't care much for was the story. I don't give two shits about Reize, or however the hell you spell his name, and it's especially hard to make a prequel story feel climactic at the end, since you know how it's going to end anyway.

Now that I say that, it would be interesting to have a game with a "prequel" that's actually a character going back in time and changing the past.
