Tri in general was god teir. And I mean the original Tri, not 3U. 3U clearly had some input lag on some things and GS felt like dogshit in comparison to Tri and Portable 3rd.

I remember getting to Alatreon first time. Now, that's a real final boss. I went back and played FU afterwards. Love the game, but the final boss was nothing in comparison. Although his music was cooler.

I really hated how the subsequent games in MH never wove the main theme into some of the monster fights. Don't get me wrong, 4U had some amazing themes (Shagaru Magala, jesus christ) but goddamn Tri's motifs were iconic.

I always did get a sort of Gauntlet Legends vibe or just any old medieval music feel from this game's OST. Sucks that they kind of went full movie orchestra for later titles. It was pretty unique compared to most games.
