I've only played Darkstalkers, Cyberbots and Power Stone but those games are actually a lot of fun.

The only game on there that's LACKING, not that it's bad, not that it's got issue, but that it's LACKING is Red Earth, because it's treated as a boss rush beat-em-up done via fighting game inputs, and the multiplayer as a result lacks much options in it given it's all about who has the highest level, and there's only 4 playable characters at that. Though as a single player game it's great and should really be treated as such, with multiplayer more an afterthought.

But fucking hell Tech Romancer gave is great mecha arena fighting before Virtural-On refined it, and Star Gladator was a great 3D arena fighter. Rival Schools are SFEX done by Capcom instead of Arika, Power Stone is fucking lit, and the worse Darkstalkers ever was is a Street Fighter 2 hyper fighting Testbed that ended up playing better overall. Cyberbots also is just great, and it's really sad it never got any extensions.

I honestly didn't start seeing Virtual-On machines till after Tech Romancer machines had been out for a few months myself, so perhaps my location was just slow on picking those up. Still, it had stuff that would later get worked into Power Stone like using different things as weapons, and knocking opponets into terrain.

Darkstalkers, Cyberbots, Tech Romancer, and Powerstone were great series.
Rival Schools had an amazing visual style, but was way too simple for it's own good.
