>tons of people pirate GOG games all the time without ever buying any
>they buy online multiplayer games and major games from Steam readily
>they even buy denuvo games when they are too impatient for them to get cracked

DRM does work. It works very well.
>>
>>382835276
Witcher 3 is GOG game and is one best seller game on PC...

DRM is useless, devs should invest the money that they spend on DRM on game optimization.
>>
I've never bought a denuvo game
>>
cool source, bro
>>
>>382835276
If no one buys GOG games how are they still in business?
>>
No shit.

There's literally nothing wrong with Denuvo. Only poorcucks whine about it.
>>
>>382835276
>tons of people
>they
cool sources
>>
Steampunks now have a Denuvo keygen
>>
>>382836096
>devs should invest the money that they spend on DRM on game optimization.
Is the publisher that spend that money though
>>
Based Denuvo triggering third worlders.
>>
>>382836096
They end up making a lot more money by having DRM which gets a lot of people to buy their games instead of pirating them out of impatience problems that are common among consumers in the video game industry. Optimization issues aren't really an issue because people will spend the money PRIOR to experiencing performance issues and most are too lazy to ask for a refund because of it, so the sale is made.
>>
the only reason DRM "works" is because a lot of retarded people that can't into pirating.
>>
the best DRM is going on torrent sites and commenting on how the cracked version ruined your computer and disabled your firewall and antivirus.
it won't work on everyone but a lot of people won't risk checking out if it's true.
>>
>>382836096
I love how, unlike Blizzard or EA, CDProjekt never had the balls to make The Witcher 3 GOG exclusive.

They know no one would pay for it.

What's that OP? I can't hear you over my repack install music for Nier.
>>
>>382837340
So?
>>
That's not DRM working, that's most people being normal and wanting to do what's not illegal

DRM doesn't encourage (or discourage) people to do the right thing. It's a useless tool that does nothing but hurt paying customers
>>
>>382837468
For everyone one person that waited there are five that caved in and paid.
>>
>>382837340
Why limit yourself to one install base when you can also use the steam platform to sell your game
>>
>>382837467
Most of those comparisons work, but Limbo was shoveled in with like 5 Humble Bundles and a bunch of other bundle sites had it too.
>>
>>382835276
>>382836449
>>382836657
>bourgeois dipshits angry that people dont waste money on games like them
>retarded and completely unaware that every denuvo game is cracked the same day since steampunks made a keygen

whats it like knowing i saved the money you spent on games, and bought drugs, better peripherals, monitors, video cards and enjoyed the games more than you, even though i didnt pay for them?

maybe if you weren't autistic mental defectives you could, too

>>382837748
You claim that a good game doesn't need DRM to sell, and then you cite a game protected by DRM as an example.

>Why limit yourself to one install base
Because you have a store and you're competing against Valve and Origin? As I said before, explain why Overwatch or Titanfall aren't available on Steam too.
>>
>>382837630
Or the played the demo and bought the game off that or they actually like Yoko taro games and nier and bought it because of that.
>>
>>382837630
Source? Of course you don't have one, you're just trying to justify spending money on a shitty game you didn't have to.
>>
>>382837467
>Comparing games released six years ago to games released last month
>Games that have been part of Steam sales and humble bundles

This image is a pretty good example of /v/'s hopeless stupidity.
>>
>>382836096
Witcher 3 gives you a massive game with hundreds of hours worth of content. Meanwhile it's probably one of the most pirated games to exist. People wonder why DRM is constantly implemented.

The game producers have already stated it didn't really hurt their sales much. They are pretty happy with not using DRM on it.
>>
>>382837998
Because unlike blizzard and ea they aren't
billion dollar business that have the backing of other games to prop up their store. Also gog isn't meant for the distribution of just CDPR games but mostly old games that are patched to work on newer systems.

>>
>>382838381
Didn't hurt their sales is a nice way of saying that despite the millions of people who pirated their game, they still were able to sell their game and make profit off of it.
>>
>>382838573
You are a retard if you think every pirated copy is a unsold game.
>>

>And a company that just recently became "AAA"
???
>>

Pretty much everyone has those old games on the left because they get priced at 2 or 3 bucks every few months...
>>
>>382838632
If you go out of your way to pirate the game and play it, you are a lost sale. Period. People who aren't lost sales? People who have no interest in the game, and go out of their way to pirate and play it. You can autistically scream all you want about how you were never going to buy it, but you clearly fucking intended to play it.

I have never had a issue with drm, all I see a butthurt poor people being entitled to play any and every game just because they want it, like fucking children now.

When DRM stuff started? yea it stumbled, servers fucked up people could not play a few titles for a day or two at launch just enough to send people into a lifetime of full on retard whenever the topic is brought up.
>>
>>382836096
>devs should invest the money that they spend on DRM on game optimization
kek witcher 3 was and still is running like fucking garbage, open world game which barely use cpu, only gpu matters with 7850 i couldn't run it even on lowest with 60fps cuz it was dropping frames like crazy which is a joke since gta v/skyrim on mods runs great, now with oced gtx 1060 + i7 7700k i drop to 45fps ultra settings in forrest for no fucking reason.
Slavs are trash at optimizing games.

Denuvo is funded by EA and Sony.
Highly likely that it's either neofags or actual shills defending it despite the fact that denuvo games now get cracked almost immediately after release.
That or their employees using psyops tactics to make them seem not as bad.
>>
>>382840306
Which other ones would you like to be picked? Not a whole lot of games have actually used Denuvo. I could name a few which have been cracked, if you'd like.
>>
The only thing they would want to install is coin mining. Viruses are a thing of the past. But most trusted releases come from sites like rarbg where any issues can be picked up by those risking to grab stuff the second it comes out and comment on it.

If a game uses Denvuo and it won't be cracked, I buy it off G2A. Fuck you. Either remove it, like DOOM or Limbo did, of which I'll say I'll buy it, or keep it, and I'll just inevitably get it one way or another.
>>
>>382840620
>millions
Oh no millions of children and/or retards were tricked because they were retarded!
Anyone with the slightest bit of common sense has no issues being a piratefag.

>>
>>382840719
>If a game uses Denvuo and it won't be cracked, I buy it off G2A
So you get frustrated and buy it anyways. Got it. DRM works.
>>
>>382838919

How the fuck is piracy a lost sale when I can inevitably buy the game, you stupid fuck? Just cause I don't buy on Day one or I pirated that game in the week doesn't mean I won't inevitably own it legit. Hell, I'm 500 games in my Steam library and I buy games I like that I pirated for the sake of not having to keep it on my hard drive.

>>382840957
You're retarded. Its the last ditch effort, sure, but I've only bought Denvuo games after they dropped Denuvo.
>>
>>382840620
Yeah, and millions of people are scammed by Pajeets dialing them and telling that "Your Microsoft PC has a virus gib bux" or install "my nudes.exe".
>>
>>382840957

A publisher considers any sale made afterwards at heavy discounts at a loss. Its made even worse bought off a third party site. They do not like that. DRM doesn't prove shit.

DOOT 2016 runs great, though it runs better now that denuvo was removed.
Of course running a game through a VM is going to cause issues.
Only a shill would say otherwise.
But chances are the same dumb suits who think DRM actually works are also the same dumb suits who think optimization isn't necessary.

Lies. Tekken 7 runs better than any other console port.
>>
>>382841434
nope, those games are just CPU demanding when i upgraded to i7 7700k from i5 2500k my fps increased by a ton in Total Warhammer, ROTTR, Deus Ex MD, JC3.

Prey runs great, Tekken 7 runs amazing even on hyperthreaded 2+2core cpu, same with Resident Evil 7, Dawn of War 3 (aka dead game) was also running well at launch.

While Dishonored 2/Wildlands/Andromeda/Ghost Warrior 3/For Honor/ still runs like shit.

It's all matter of optimization, denuvo would only lower your fps by maybe 1-2 at best.

DRM exists to please the shareholders.

It gives them confidence in their investment and also serves as a good scapegoat for terrible business practices when reality calls a shithead marketer's bluff. There has never, and likely will never be any proof that piracy is a "lost sale", since it's practically impossible to prove. But it's not about proving anything true or false, it's about making excuses.

Can also scam a few bucks from dipshit indie devs who make walking simulator pixel shit shovelware that nobody wants to pay for because they see other indie refuse being pirated a squillion times, and think they will have millions of dollars "stolen" from them by those dastardly pirates.

Sleazy businessmen being excuse making twats.
