Are you new to video games by any chance? World building doesn't mean what you seem to think.

Also, FF9 is one of the weakest entries in the series. The series up until that point had tried to innovate character development as much as possible, whereas FF9 was a watered down shout-out to earlier installments that made everything magnitudes more linear, virtually eliminating character customization altogether. And tons of lag thanks to poor memory management.

This is to say nothing of the fanfic-tier writing. You oppose a tranny who's hellbent on destroying the world because he has an artificially limited lifespan. Wow, so deep.

I agree OP, I loved going through the game and experiencing each new city and town, each moment of the story as it evolved, meeting each character and getting to know them and enjoying their interactions. Everyone else ITT is a real shit and I seriously hope they get brain cancer and die.
