Entrance fee admission, rides free.

Whenever I go to an amusement park unless I pay extra for fast lane tickets it always takes like 20-30 mins to get on a ride, an hour if it's busy, meaning the more popular your park gets the less rides people go on and the less money you make.

>>
>>382821682
this is the worst way to play. a lot of guests don't bring enough money or simply never want to buy anything
>>
>>382824981

Because the old ones had more the sharp nostalgic feel and wonder that kids got when they got it or opened it from a box of Cereal.

The RCT3 is great in my opinion when I was young and managed to build a Roller Coaster dedicated to my favorite Youtube channel in 2006. (A roller coaster inside a giant Microwave) but I also argue RCT3 is so much more easier because of those pools. I kinda wish I didn't lose the discs, But I am not into rebuying RCT3 again
>>
>>382824981

Because you can kill more people in the original games
>>
>>382824951

This is the worst thing, when you start to play the system instead of playing the game.

>$50 entrance fee
>big rides with long lines cost $1-$3
>small rides cost $0.50
If lines get too long, raise the price. If lines are too short, lower the price. Keep an eye on each ride's profitability. If rides aren't making a profit, lower the price of entrance unless they actually have a line formed, in that case raise them.

This is literally my strategy for every single park and it never fails. Game is too easy tbqh. I wish the interest rates were higher. Fucking $12 interest per month on a $15,000 dollar loan? Are you fucking kidding me? And then when I have $30,000 near the end with no space left to build I should be able to loan it out or invest in the stock market or something.

Strategy is boring, especially since it's so easy the system. The patrician way to play RCT tycoon is to build a park that's profitable and also looks good.

1. RCT 1 and 2 will run on fucking anything made since 1992. This is less relevant nowadays since toasters can also run RCT 3, but it is a factor in how RCT 1/2 built such a broad fanbase over the years.
2. RCT 1 and 2 simply have more content than RCT 3. Even without taking the massive amount of fan maps into account, there's simply a lot more official attractions and maps for the first two games plus expansions.
3. The sprite-based graphics arguably give RCT 1 and 2 a more consistent and themeatically pleasing visual style.
4. You can kill people in the first two games. This is a bigger factor than you might realize.

There are other arguments, but I think those are the four big reasons why the first two games are so enduring.

I feel like having everything optimized has killed the fun for me. I used to endlessly enjoy HOMM3 as a shitter, barely making it past the middle difficulty at best, having no idea what's OP or not. Now after reading a bunch of /vr/ threads and online guides I have the game optimized down to really tiny factors and it's just a routine and numbers game now.

Make a ride that has an exit that leads into a walled off atea so anyone that rides cant leave. Then after a while they will start puking and shitting everywhere. Once this happens place a bayhroom in the centre and charge 5 dollars per person. After half an hour money will no longer be a problem

The whole trilogy is only $11 on steam right now.

If you get it, all of them are worth playing. However, get OpenRCT2, it adds much more content to RCT2 and online multiplayer. Some people will say RCT3 is shit, but personally it's my favorite. Whichever game is the best depends on the person.

There's also Planet Coaster which is basically a updated RCT3 with lots of more ways to customize your park, and steam workshop support. DO NOT GET RCT WORLD, IT FUCKING SUCKS. All of the people who worked on the old RCT games went to work on Planet Coaster.
>>
>>382854617
Rct3 and Planet Coaster are more for hyper autistic levels of detail, but with mediocre simulation mechanics.
RCT1/2 Da best business simulation management with decent levels of customization and a lot of old school charm.

Park entrance is free. New rides cost five bucks a ride. They will fucking pay this price. Yes, they will pay five bucks to slide their ass down Slide 1 just once. Eventually, the ride will age, and you'll have to lower it to $3, then later $1/$0.50, but by then the ride will have made around 1,000 to 1,500 dollars. A swinging ship at $5 could last about a year before needing to drop the price to $3, then it'll stay steady until Year 3 ends, making like $10,000 in it's lifetime up to that point.
Rollercoasters cost proportionate to their excitement value. It has 7.5 excitement? Charge $7.50.
As far as I'm aware, these pricing strats only work in RCT1. Guests are more stingy and less retarded in 2, I think.

Because it allows you to focus on the game itself, which is simple and fun. Too many simulator and tycoon games place sensory overload onto the player and what should be fun becomes a tedious chore. Having only a few fleshed out, good qualities allows the player to feel more creative and challenged and is technically easier, making the player feel rewarded more often.

Anyone tried Parkitect?
It seems to be for RCT1/2 what Planet Coaster was for 3 but it's early access.
On the other hand it seems to get updates every 2 weeks.

An idiot is someone who thinks he's a genius for pissing in the street.

Even knowing how everything works it can still be pretty vexing to get a city really going.

want to buy some imported air?
>>
>bought Planet Coaster
>it has a pretty powerful landscaping tool lets you make cool shit like rock mushrooms
>that crushing feeling when you fully realize you have no creativity

Looks great. I hope you gave those rides good names.

the only way to deal with them is not visiting them.
>>
Is Planet Coaster actually good?
>>
>>382873194

This.

They are also long as fuck. 1 Scenario is 3 fucking hours and there are literally 100 of them.

Why didn't they include the option to finish a park pre-emptively if it achieves the goal?

Maintaining a high quality park was part of the challenge I guess.

last McDs I went to had that was in Geneva

It may be an expensive city but there are still enough gypsies around to spoil things so they need locks on the doors

Why the fuck do Heartline rollercoasters suck so much dick in game?
>you'll barely break 3.5 excitement
>meanwhile intensity is at 8.5 with a medium amount of nausea
>coaster aint cheap to build
Fuck Sawyer, I think he just had a hateboner for this coaster. It'd be fun to ride irl, fuck you. Watch a youtube vid of the ride.
Also the lack of vertical lift hills is also bull.

>they can be compact
>you can get away with charging 5-6 bucks for them

It doesn't have to be good, it has to be a rollercoaster, because then the peeps will pay the coaster tax
>>

>Going to get on the coaster
>See a bunch of loops in the ride
>Get on the ride
>None of the loops are actually apart of the coaster track and are just unused loops
>>
>>382878030
You bring a good point, but they're far too much of an eyesore for me to take advantage of their compact nature. Personally I don't like building more than 1 type of coaster, among other restrictions like no prebuilts or ez money 10 second rides like variations on the Shuttle Loop.
