Don't have the source on me atm but I've read it was just for a ruse. You think you'll get Oxide for beating the Purple Cup like how you got the other bosses from the other cups but nope it's Fake Crash. Also his model is fuckhuge compared to the rest of the characters, it might have been difficult to see anything when playing as Oxide. Wish you could though, hopefully he's playable if they remake CTR.

Because in terms of controls and mechanics it's completely different to the main series. Here's hoping they do remake it though, there's heavy demand for it and N.Sane Collection seems to be selling incredibly well so it's likely they're looking into it or it's already in early development and soon to get the green light for full scale production to begin.
