Because even if it's sold a lot of copies it won't have a sustainable online population due to incompetent devs and bad design decisions. They made the game revolve around Jason being fun to play... but you only get to play him a very small % of your time. Counselors are harder, require more coordination, have more jank, and are less rewarding to play (an average match as Jason gets you 1600-1800 xp, an average match as a counselor gets you roughly 1000xp, and that's if you escape)

So one of the problems with this design is that as soon as a match starts, 1-2 people leave because they're not Jason. They know playing counselor is completely unrewarding and not as fun so they just don't bother.
