That said, Devil's Third is total garbo and I overpaid for it at $4. Like, it's probably worse than vanilla NG3 and Yaiba. Maybe even as bad as From's infamous Ninja Blade.

to be fair, Ninja Gaiden 2 isn't that good

it has it's moments but it's ruined consistently by the slowdown, load times and cheap recycling of bosses towards the second half

that said, the final Genshi duel is god-tier

The game was in development hell. The first trailer(s) looked considerably better than the garbage what they released. I believe they needed to redo the game 2 times over. In the end they discarded their own engine because publisher went bust along with all the original assets and stuff.

The end result was Unreal Engine 3 on Wii U...

It was combination of fuckery and bad luck. Maybe the game just really wasn't meant to be but they forced it out anyway. It's like knowing your unborn child is retarded and accepting the birth instead of abortion.

What a fucking mess, from absolute dead enemy ai to the bullet sponge zombie tanks you encounter, it's like the game doesn't want to you to have fun.

God Hand had good highly customizable gameplay and was difficult.
This game has 2 metric tons of shooty bang cannon fodder, melee moves that are there for the handful of bosses it requires and an ""hardcore"" difficulty that makes NG2 ninja dog look impossible, that city level where the zombies start appearing is one of the worst levels in recent memory.

The game is worth playing. It's definitely not for everyone but to me it feels like a step between Metal Gear Solid 4 and Revengence.
