It was my understanding that the Wii U actually plays gamecube games natively as opposed to emulation, since it has the same architecture (which the Switch doesn't). Even if the Switch COULD emulate gamecube, it's doubtful that Nintendo would capitalize on it since they were too retarded to sell gamecube games on the Wii U.
