Narcissu and Swan Song. Swan Song gets a bit crazy towards the end but it is pretty comfy.

Cho Dengeki Stryker is one of my personal favorite, and is one of the best ones you can read. Keep in mind it starts out really silly before getting into the more serious stuff.

How do you deal with the fact that bestgirl has the worst route in a bishojo VN?

Man, just finished Princess Evangile. Even though its painfully average bishojo crap I found the way the routes shed light on other routes pretty well done.

I only saw the Steins;Gate anime but played S;G 0, would I still have fun playing the first game now? Are the other routes worth it

I played that a while back, was pretty good. It takes a long time and I found the school uniforms vomit inducing, but damn, once you get near the end of the first route the VN stays strong till the last route.

I really disliked how in hte final route they could force her to sign the contract with the guy though. He felt like a friendly guy that only offers his pact with willfull participants, not people being forced. But then in the end he was like, yeah ill accept this girl being forced to sign a contract to power up another dude.

They're pretty good but you're not missing out on anything huge. I overall do think the VN is worth playing even if you have seen the anime, but the true route is going to be the same thing, just more fleshed out.

The VN stretches out the Mayuri death row agony. Also it makes mr Braun his death a lot better. In the VN he draws the gun but he shoots himself in the hope he might be able to save moeka. While in the animu tries to shoot moeka.

The other routes are fine but I found some of them rather lacking, like there was no heart put into them.

I dont know why you want to buy visual novels but anyway you cant go wrong with Stein Gate.
Though first you should go read Kara no Shoujo 2 which is just as good.
Also if you dont mind reading more than normal you should get Muv Luv, Muv Luv Alternative, and Muv Luv Chronicles series that were fantraslated so far.

I thought the same thing during my first play through but after getting my first ending and going through again, I really appreciated the change of pace and scenery from the 'Present Day' sections.

Plus after you've gone through the game once, a lot of new dialogue and some new scenes are added to the 'Flashback' section.

So in the end I think I ended up liking the new characters and learning about them more than the actual story.

Zero is a prequel and will spoil the VN. It has more straight up action and deals with different themes. Its written by urobutcher so expect a bunch of stupid suffering. I still liked it but it is overrated. Probably because its more mature and has great visuals.

Stay night the VN meanwhile is extremely slow. First of all you get introduced to this awesome concept of a grail war with heroes of the past and mages and urban fantasy, so many a nerdboner were raging in their pants. However then after 3 days the story resets to day 1 and you follow some faggy dude that is very boring.
Then when you finally get to day 4 the story is about how shirou is a little bitch that wants to fight a war he is ill equipped to fight alone while his partner saber is being a little bitch as well. This goes on really slow till finally ACTION happens and the ending is pretty touching. So once youve plowed through the intro route (quite some hours) you can actually do the other routes that are pretty baller in their own right.

Now what I think many dislike stay night because first of all it is a lot slower than zero. Second it seems to be about this mage war with heroes. But in reality it isnt. It has a lot of worldbuilding, and then it talks about the nature of superheroes and how they would have to function in a normal world. The first route slowly introduces this concept and even after pouring hours into it you only get the worldbuilding and setup and theme of the story. Only during the second route does the theme get developed.

Due the extremely slow pace and the fact its true theme and story are initially hidden behind a shuunishit urban fantasy story, many people hate it.

To be honest, I came across Fate/Zero the series on Netflix and just started watching it.

Fucking amazing.

Then I watched Unlimited Blade Works, it was alright but not as good as Zero IMO.

Then I found out about the Fate/Stay Night VN and tried to read it but fuck it's so looooooooooooooooooooooooong and so booooooooooooooooooooooring.

You can honestly, skip playing it and just watch the anime series and you'll have the premise down. Then if you're a glutton for punishment you can play the VN and try not to hang yourself 40 hours in.

What dumbass thought those adults were mature in anyway? Keyneth acted like he was some overlord and wanted his opponents to crawl through his house for a grand show down, final boss style. Tokiomi was fool who thought he could cheat the game by hiding in his house and letting his pawns do the heavy lifting, Kariya was a chunnibyou who used the war as his excuse to play the noble hero who saves the maidens and that will make them instantly fall in love with him. Kiritsugu was a manchild who wanted to magically wish the world into a my little pony universe and finally, Waver just acted on stupid impulse with no idea what he was getting into. Compared to Shirou ,Rin, Sakura and IIya they're all brats

It has the most interesting characters, is dark, brutal and mature.

Illya is the cringiest archetype in anime the "I LOVE just watching people getting hurt. DEATH DEATH DIE" even though her mother did every thing possible to raise her well and get her to respect people. And don't even get me started on fucking Rin. She was the most worthless character. She had almost no character growth outside of "hey I kinda like Shirou better" she was just a bullshit dominant personality with a cute design so every could fight to claim her as "muh waifu"

I'll take some shoddy tactics and a more mature tone and themes over bland ass high school drama being passed off as action and character growth any day

Also the only "tactical" things in zero is how Kerry dealt with Lancer and Assasin faking it's death, the rest is just a huge amount of "why didn't they just do X" Frodoposting

It's funny because that originated in the VN when Kirei was telling Shirou what Kiritsugu was really like

Even Tokiomi's strategy of having Assassin scout out everyone and have Gil play cleanup was copied from Kirei and Lancer, AND Tokiomi's plan of hiding in the basement is what Archer mockingly suggested to Rin when he didn't take her seriously.

Zero has a whole lot a pottery, I'm only scraping the surface with these.
