I'm beginning to believe that at least half the people who use the original Nier to shit on Automata have never actually played it. I remember seeing someone say that Automata tried way too hard to make you feel bad for killing the machines, than literally right after saying OG Nier was better. TLG was frustrating and I hated it up until the 2/3rds mark. It's an experience not unlike bonding with a pet.

The problem with NieR is that it has trash core gameplay mechanics, trash pacing, and trash character development. Which weigh far more than anything you've complained about.

hard will be hard at first on a NG, but later in the game its probably closer to the recommended difficulty.

Automata only improved on gameplay and graphics imo. Music and overall story were better in NieR although it did have pacing issues.

My biggest complaint with Automata is that either enemies are too easy and die in a few hits or are too large to combo off of. This makes the gameplay mechanics irrelevant within the game itself. That and half the bosses being reskins pissed me off.
Such as max weapon hidden boss was just the desertballs reskinned to be emil.

It's a good game but too overhyped by retards.

I like them both. Automata objectively has better gameplay. I prefer OG Nier overall, mainly because the story and characters connected a little better for me, but both games have obvious flaws in the narrative department
