Who the fuck is responsible for this shit? I've never had my opinion on a game alter so drastically, so quickly. I picked it up because it's only £12 on Amazon and my first impression was actually really positive. I got to grips with the controls pretty quickly after some initial disorientation and was having fun. Combat is intense, the presentation is spot on for pushing SF64 nostalgia buttons, it all feels like you're a kid playing a really cool saturday morning cartoon.
And then the fucking walker missions happen, and the fucking gyrocopter bullshit. The levels turn into tight corridors that are awkward as fuck to navigate. Everything is slow and plodding just absolutely dull. I'm powering through because the good bits are good, but please don't tell me there's a lot of this shit in the game.

The boss battles put me off. Fucking fixed tv camera angle means you're forced to play with the gamepad and it's awful.

Miyamoto has this weird mentality towards Nintendo IPs. Making Mario into an XCOM ripoff is fine, but a possible Star Fox Warriors? Naw, make them do Waifu Emblem instead. Now, here's an incomplete ROM of a game we never released before to get you to buy our newest emulator box!

Kamiya approached Nintendo with an idea for a new Star Fox game, they rejected him
Eventually they hired Platinum and benchwarmers on Zero to fix any frame rate issues they could trying to support Shiggy's brave new idea for gamepad motion controls
he's turning into the fucking Phantom of the Opera, anytime some dev wants to make a new game in his series, they'll have to watch their back around him
