Pretty much this. Jubileus was fun and balder was pretty good too but everything else was mediocre. Balder in bayo 2 was great especially his last encounter. Also the fight with aesir reminded me of Vergil and Dante against arkham, though not as good desu.

The Jeanne fight in Bayo 1 was great. Probably the only good boss in the series.

But who cares whether the bosses are good or not, the combat's fun in any situation and bosses are longer fights in fancier stages with hazards.

This. I wanted to do infinite climax on bayo 2 without witch time so I used the rosary accessory to get rid of witch time and the moon accessory for parrying. Everything was fine until I got to the last encounter with balder. Without witch time, that fight is just impossible. It's a shame really.

I managed to get past the first two instances of balder by using the bow, think it's called Kafka, can't remember. Nothing else would really work against him so I had to use it. Last balder fight can still be damaged this way but if you are far away from him he just spams the feather attack. The timing is pretty easy to get used to but if you miss it once then half your hp is gone. Doesn't help that the Kafka does shit damage.

I think it's going to be a bayo 1 + 2 bundle for Switch. That's great and all but it's yet another port.

What's nice though is seeing how Platinum is moving in the TFD direction (multiple unique characters, gear customization/collection, Bayonetta-style melee mechanics that don't feel obliged to suit every DMC fan's muscle memory, TPS gunplay, platformer-style movement mechanics) with all of their recent games, including Automata; it gives me hope that whatever new IP they drop next will be more like TFD than it is like Bayo, which itself is trying too hard to be "DMC meets God of War" to ever fully be its own thing.

It would not exist without Nintendo. That made the relationship between Nintendo and Platinum games a very good one, maybe too good.
But I am pretty sure PG will do what they can to bring Bayo 3 to all systems. They have found a good middle ground now with bringing 1 to the switch as another thank you to Nintendo, no need to also give them Bayo 3.

Which made me fuck up that one cutscene QTE where she has to jump, I expected something and then pressed the jump button but I had to press the fucking gun button instead.
