It was fun but there should have been more secret areas and the story was cool but I wish it had more depth somehow. I didn't like how there were a few places like that one shadow carja base near the water with the arch, with literally no content, just a location with people.

I liked going into the mother's whatever "vault"(words escaping me rn) and learning that kids grew up there but I wanted to know more. I wanted to explore more and sort of expected more depth.

The weapons were cool but the armor was pointless.

I got halfway through and then dropped it. The open world doesn't do it for me anymore, it's an over-used design that just gets so repetitive I lost all interest, the story wasn't great either but the setting was.

Most tightly-designed open world game I've ever played.
Also runs the best too.

It's a solid 8/10. The main draw is the combat which is incredibly fluid and opens up a lot of options for player creativity. Other pro's are the way you can set the difficulty and HUD to your liking.
The end game of it all creeps up on you rather fast and the economy is fucked since everything is ridiculously cheap. The fact that you max out everything in terms of skills and not having to make real choices was a downside for me too.

Still, great combat, interesting world to explore and a somewhat decent story that keeps you engaged. Not much replay value sadly but for a first attempt in the genre, Guerilla did pretty well for themselves.

Fantastic start, but becomes less fun the more you play.

It's difficult to say whether i enjoy it. The game essentially feel like generic western open world games. It follows the formula to the letter. At first i thought the battle was going to be memorable or different but it isn't because you are locked into button mashing to your most upgraded bow or do qte ambush. All in all is pretty okay games. I am not surprised it get sequel just like assassin creed, gta , elder scrolls and other open world game get their sequel.

I was hyped as fuck for it but then I saw the ubi towers followed by the usual /v/ "let's nitpick this or that thing to hell and beyond" and got turned off, but my friend who bought it gameshared with me and I got to play it. Easily one of the most interesting settings I've seen in a game and the story was extremely well done and executed. I was not expecting for it to be so fucking good because the game gets you hooked into the mystery surrounding the world and you simply gotta have more of it.

The open world aspect also turned out to be way better than I expected because there were no fetch quests and the ones that looked like one ended up becoming something else. The gameplay was varied, every new encounter was engaging as fuck, the sound design was outstanding, the difficulty curve was good and the graphics and optimization that went on this thing were also absolutely fucking insane. I mean, the PS4 is a glorified potato and yet this thing looks out of this world. I can only imagine how amazing it would look on PC. Regardless, other console developers should take note.

The only thing I didn't like about it was that post-credits scene because I like when stories actually end without any form of sequel bait.

All in all, I should have known better than to listen to this butthurt POS of a board who gets anally devasted anytime Sony puts out an amazing game like this. I mean, I was here when that cringeworthy fiasco of sheer butthurt took place regarding bloodborne's exclusivity, so this one was definitely on me. I would have missed out on this outstanding game if it weren't for my friend.

Pretty good year for gaming all around. I played Nioh -> Horizon -> Persona 5 in a row and they were all outstanidng. I plan on playing BOTW once the emulator matures enough, hope it's as fun as it looks like.

All three games have different plants and trees that look vastly different from eachother (as much as a tree can differ).
But i get what you are trying to do. You are trying to find similarities and then claim the games are similar. This is stupid because if you go to madagascar in Uncharted 4 or you go to the University in TLOU or you go to Meridian in Horizon you wouldn't be able to say any of those things. Also, every single post-apocalyptic AI setting out there looks like all hell has broken loose, whereas in this one the world literally ended and humanity actually went extinct yet everything has been restored, but things are still fucked up due to the existence of Hades, but never look like it to your average folk. Then you have all the mysticism and superstition that people built around the machines with entire religious teachings surrounding them and you want to tell me that this is not original? I sure would love to hear examples of other settings like this one.

Everything about GAIA was original as fuck and really interesting. When devs do post-apocalyptic AIs they are always some skynet-wannabe that became "evil" just because. whereas Hades didn't just become the big bad guy, he was designed for this and was just doing his function.
