Well party games as a genre is pretty bottom of the barrel as it gets, Mario Party had an edge in polish and charm. They still weren't that well put together though, for every one great minigame there were a few awful ones. The minigame design just got progressively worse as the series went on, and the polish slowly started disappearing as well.
