What's a good gaming PC that doesn't go over $1,000?
If there isn't a prebuilt one, are there any suggested builds that reach my budget, or will I have to go over?
>>
Get a gaming laptop mate, they're the way of the future
>>
spend it on the gpu
its the only part that's really doing anything
>>
there is some digging shit going on recently (again) and decent gpus' price went over the roof from what I heard. Mayby it's good idea to wait a little
>>
>>382607119
Bad time to be building a gaming PC since mining fags have inflated the price.
>>
>>382608739
So I'm stuck with my laptop until the prices drop?
>>
>>382607119
Go with AMD, and you'll easily get a PC that can handle every modern game at 1080p 60fps for under $1000, starting from scratch.
If you want, I can go into more specific details.
I built mine for $1200, and used 0 deals/sales
>>
>>382609014
Unless you get lucky. Or you can buy an older generation card that will still get good 1080p frames

>Radeon RX 470
>AMD FX 8350
>generic disc drive
>WD Blue 1TB hdd
>corsair carbide spec 02
>EVGA 500w
I don't think I missed anything
oh and
>one of those storage trays for the extra disc drive slot
>>
>>382609967
You got all that for $1200?
>>
Building a PC for the first time myself. It's hard trying not to fuck something up but it's also pretty fun. I don't like having to buy a VGA to DVI adapter however.
>>
Real talk: just check slickdeals or the buildapcsales subreddit for prebuilts/ or gpus. I've caught a few reasonable deals these last few months even with the mining shortages.
>>
>>382610354
are you new at computers?
>>
>>382611289
Yeah man, I've been on a laptop since 2009.
It's alright for games that aren't heavier than a feather.
>>
>>382608739
What do you mean by "mining fags"?
>>
>>382611568
Etherium crypto currency miners have bought up all the mid range GPUs, as they have the best price/performace for mining. It's hiking the prices of all cards, pretty much

HAHAHAHA thanks to the aetherium shitfest, you'll need $1500+ right now to get the performance of a $800 build a month ago, sorry brah. If I were you, I'd just wait for Xbone X; 60fps@4k for $500. That's literally better than any $1000>>382608657
pc you can build right now.
>>
>>382611289
Last time I checked (Sandy/Ivy Bridge Intels generation) AMD cpus was way worse than Intels at least for gaming. (for more or less the same price), Did it change by now? I wouldn't mind if it did, competition never harms buyers
t. Another anon
>>
>>382612038
This is true, but you could also build now, and get an older gtx 970 and wait for this to blow over. In a few months, there will be a plethora of cheap RX 480's on ebay.
>>
>>382612192
why? those are highly abused cards
I'd feel safer buying a lottery ticket
>>
>>382611568
The kids that weren't smart enough to invest in Etherium coins several months ago so now they're trying to ride the bubble by mining for coins.
>>
You know, this inflation makes me want to become a miner fag
>>
>>382612418
Buy xfx, get lifetime warranty.
>>
>>382612418
I wouldn't keep it forever, either. But it'll last long enough for you to upgrade.
>>
>>382612498
Yeah, if you want to destroy your computer
>>
>>382612498
The real money seems to be in reselling cards. I sold my 480 I bought in march for 115, on ebay for 400 and straight traded it up for a GTX 1080.
