if you go Malkavian the game is completely rewritten, all dialogue and reactions are unique to the malkavian and this is through the whole game, and you get a lot of very special moments with voices in your head constantly, and the tv talks directly to you. In short its a fucking blast and should be tried once you have gotten familiar with the game.

I came in to say this. Every time I'd ever heard about this game, especially on /v/, people made the hotel out to be some nightmare-inducing, PTSD experience, like Wes Craven was personally going to slither in through the shadows of my room while I was playing it and mindfuck me with a terror so all-encompassing I'd feel it in the raw nerves of my teeth.

What I got was a fucking laundromat with blinking lights and a fucking teacup flying across the room in the source engine. It wasn't just "not scary," it was fucking anti-scary. People in here must've been 5 years old when they played this game back in 2004, because I can't fathom how anyone could look back so fondly on that section of the game and think that it's spooky.
