As much as I loved Sunshine it definitely has its share of flaws. It's still my favourite 3d Mario but I feel as though Odyssey will easily beat it out with more up to date quality of life improvements. Probably a much larger game as well.

I decided to replay Sunshine this past weekend, and although it's a lot of fun, it has some serious flaws.

The worst flaw is by far the camera. This thing is atrocious. For some asinine reason, they swapped the left and right on the camera control. The camera revolves to the left if you push right and to the right if you push left. This is the opposite of almost every other 3D game, including all of the other 3D Mario games. This can make maneuvering extremely difficult when you need to go fast but accidentally turn the camera the wrong direction.

To be fair, this is fixable if you're emulating it by just re-mapping the buttons, but it makes it extremely frustrating when playing on a console.

I think the game has much more serious shortcomings than that.
