Should governments partly finance video games as they do with other culture forms as cinema or theather plays?

No I think they are meeting enough (((diversity quotas))) without government funding already
A lot of countries put a few million towards games already right? I know the UK gave about £4m last year.
As for how successful it is, I'm not sure.
All government funded movies are shit. Chinese's especially.
Are video games art?
Isn't that why the Germans produce so many work simulator games? Devs actually get Merkelbux to spread glorious German work ethic. And CD Red got money from their government because the Witcher became a global hit and spread glorious Polish culture.
I think Inside got govt funding. I think it's cool.

How about we keep the goverment out of all vidya and let consumers vote with their wallet

Most of the european films nowdays are partly funded via goverments and that included modern masterpieces.

No. The companies that need it are buried too much in a pile of shitty competitors.
The ones that would likely get money if it was implemented are going to be the ones that don't need it.
Video games are the only medium that nickel and dime their customers to get far more money out of it than they used to or should.
Season pass bullshit on a game that's already $30 more expensive than it used to be ten years ago is unacceptable. Especially when those companies used to roll out content patches the size of expansions just because they were happy we played their game.

governments shouldnt give out tax breaks to 'art' such as theater and 'conema'
