I will really never get this. game suffered from awful pacing, by Skellige I was bored of the same quests over and over. and the wild hunt ending up just being space elves was a major let down. it all just felt rushed by the second half of the game, its completely frontloaded.

I've almost made a 180 and come to accept that Witcher 3 isn't all that bad. The story is nice, the visuals are pretty good and the voice acting and animations are stellar.
I'm mostly just disappointed in CDPR because they opted to make an open world game and not utilize it well.
The loot system sucks, it doesn't really feel like you help towns, level scaling etc.

If you count combat, that's simply not true. I played on death march and the game is completely broken. It was never difficult and every encounter could be cheesed with either Aard, Quen or Igni combined with how easy it is to dodge.

Try 5/10 gameplay. My enthusiasm plummeted once I discovered that I didn't suck at the game, but the fighting mechanics were legitimately horrible. In the vanilla version, several animations lasted so long, that inputs for trying to dodge or move were ignored.

I'm a connoisseur of high quality RPGs such as Fallout New Vegas, vtmb, arcanum and baldurs gate but this game was just bland. every village looked the same. there was no immersion and the quests repeated over and over. also inventory management and crafting was horrible

I'd say it was really good. But it could've been better, the last act was sooo rushed and Eredin and the rest of the hunt never really got proper development. Still, fucking fantastic game. I would still give it a 10/10 because it was more impressive than anything else I'd played.
Still though, I'm hoping cdpr can do even better with cyberpunk. I also hope they work on gameplay a bit, it's easily the weakest aspect of all of their games.

Final encounter with Eredin in Witcher 1 felt like a more satisfying conclusion even though it's just two bad voice actors stiffly talking.
