That's completely normal though as it is a consequence of lag-compensation which is the norm in FPS netcode.

On a client in an FPS game, every world-entity that is synchronised with the server is not displayed in real time but it's displayed usually 50 - 100ms in the past. The reason for this is to make sure that the client receives an updated positional update from the server in order to smoothly move the object around by interpolating between the previous and the current state. When firing at such a target, the client sends a time-stamp with the command which the server can use to check whether the client had lined up his shot correctly and thus score it as a hit.

Your opponent has seen you for the exact same time as he would have had if the game were taking place in real time and he has hit you just the same way - it just took longer for his hits to count. The low-ping player still has the advantage because he could have killed the high-ping player BEFORE his hits would have count.

Don't get me wrong - Quake Champions does not have a good netcode, but unlagging hitscan weapons is most definitely not the issue here as it's done in literally EVERY fps.
