Well Link DID have pink hair. There was no reason why they chose to give him pink, except pure aesthetics. There was no palette limitation or anything like that. They just made his heir Pink.

I love both games, but like I said, OoT is more ambitious. LttP has great gameplay but is more of an upgrade to Zelda1, OoT has free roaming 3d, day and night cycles, more/better story telling.

I don't know why people keep asking this, I thought it was common knowledge by now that Nintendo originally had planned "Zelda: A Link to the Past" to be a sci-fi game in which you travel back in time to get your regular old Zelda fill. There were complications and the game was basically rewritten into what we got, but they kept the name for whatever reason, presumably because they'd already trademarked it.
