By smacking people really hard. If any of the elements is a little bitch it's wind, it's so lame developers frequently do nonsense like giving it lightning attacks when lightning is clearly fire just to make it suck less.

Fire rarely has anything besides pure offensive capabilities though. Usually has attack buffs, and very rarely does it have any healing capability. Meanwhile, water almost always has healing skills along with its attacks. Wind usually has some buffing or maybe debuff abilities, things that aren't always useful but potentially broken. Earth is consistently going to have some kind of defensive barrier. If I had to pick just one and go solo, I'd take whatever gives me the best versatility.

That's just redundant and you end up with a dozen different elements that are barely different, i.e. lava and fire, ice and water and fog, wind and lightning, wood and earth and stone, etc.

Quality over quantity I say, as far as "natural elements" go 4 is plenty if you give the skills enough diversity. If you want to add more stuff, then add more abstract shit like astral, time, void, life, death,chaos,aether or whatever. Splitting ice and water apart just adds more useless shit to keep track of.
>>
>>382553886
This is stupid.
Elements come from the states of matter.
Air = Gas
Earth = Solid
Water = Liquid
Fire = Plasma

It all comes down to this and removing one or the other is stupid.
>>
>>382553763
Fahrenheit is a better system than celsius. Fahrenheit revolves around a scale of what humans think are hot and cold. Outside 0-100 is legitimately dangerous. Celsius revolves around an arbitrary molecule's behavior at different kinetic energies. It is far less useful to humans than fahrenheit. Kelvin is okay because of its 0, but using the celsius scale for kelvin is a mistake. Instead, using fahrenheit scaling from absolute 0 would make the most scientific sense.

>>382554374
This is literally how plato formulated elements in timaeus, and 2500 years of idiots have ignored that. The elementd correspond with states of matter + energy, not literal substances. He talks about how rock can be turned into "water" with heating and how water changes to air and earth. Fire isn't plasma tho, fire is his word for light and heat, which is just energy. Plato did not know about plasma.

>>382554550

Fahrenheit is a better system for reporting the weather.

Celsius is better for other applications.
>>
>>382554879
Celsius is based on arbitrary fact, while fahrenheit is based on objective (whole human race agrees) biological feeling.
If you use celsius willingly in a place where fahrenheit is used, or you militantly fight for celsius anywhere, you are an autist and probably don't have much human emotion. Or you're brainwashed by yuro filth. Remember that all other metric standards are beautiful and pure, besides kelvin/celsius.

>it were 17c outside today, it were bleeding cold mum!
>it were 27c outside today, it were bleeding hot mum!

you see how there are only like 30 relevant degrees in the entire system? it makes it worse for reporting weather, granted better scientifically but much worse for every day use
>>
>>382550760
Yeah but imagine that many tons of fire or lightning swallowing your city
>>
>>382555029
From a practical standpoint, Fahrenheit makes more sense because you can regularly use the full 0-100 spectrum over the course of a year; it reaches 0 in the winter and 100 in the summer, occasionally stretching beyond that. Now look at how often do you look at the weather and see it being even close to 40 C?

Because it's just as arbitrary. You only think otherwise because you can go from 0 to 100 to satisfy your autism, but the truth is weather goes below 0 and above 100 all the time depending on where you live. Where I live regularly goes from -25 F to +90 F, so your precious decimal system becomes irrelevant.

Any of you retards considered the fact that assessing outside weather is not the only purpose of measuring temperature?
Like, maybe it could be useful to measure temperature for scientific purposes. Like, in chemical experiments or something. Gee.

I disliked water the most from the 4 elements but this made me change my mind.

>Europeans run around with thermometers constantly measuring the temperature of nearby taps, rivers, the air, and the ocean, shouting out their readings so the local muslim rapists can know exactly how close that water is to boiling or freezing so they can plan accordingly

Now that I think about it, I'll bet you fifty "quid" or whatever that there's a British Royal Thermometering Bureau that trains agents to do just that.

Lightning is actually caused by Zeus therefore it's god elemental.

Only where oxygen is present or able to combust.
There are things that can combust without oxygen and aren't even related to fire.

Fire isn't a plasma nor does it represent plasma, it's more energy.

You could have an interesting take on a magic system with more recently discovered states of matter though. Finding what they'd be based on would be a cunt. Sure plasma is as easy as neon, but what do you use for supersolids and superfluids or superglass? Do you split energy into the fundamental forces? What the fuck is gravity?

What the fuck are you talking about? You do know that plato was alive before plasma and supersolids were discovered, right?
Also plasma could be aether, which is the weird one. But most people just consider it void.

What about carbon? Hydrogen? Oxygen? Water is arbitrary.
Also, state change is totally stochastic and even more damningly a function of pressure. 0 and 100 C are approximate. Stop talking about things you have no education in.

>What about carbon? Hydrogen? Oxygen? Water is arbitrary.

How often does the average person deal with pure hydrogen? Pure carbon?
And nigga I just mentioned that water is the most important thing in your pathetic life, how is that arbitrary?

>0 and 100 C are approximate

Of course they're "approximate", but they're still judged as 0 and 100. What the fuck are you getting at? You want people to use scientific thermometers to bring water to a perfect 99.993743* boil?
